Emusic users - what do you think of the forthcoming changes?

remittanceman [Edit] [Delete] 16:23, 25 October '10

If you haven't noticed the light blue banner at the top of the screen for the last few weeks, they are going to a price-per-track model like iTunes from next month.

Not sure what I think about this - my initial reaction was that it was the excuse to leave I've been waiting for then I did the maths and realised that there genuinely is no change at the moment. Having an older account makes it too good to leave at the moment. It just shows what a bargain eMusic is when they are willing to give me over 1.5x more in extra credit than I'm actually paying with prices still loads less than iTunes (42p per track). If it leads to some labels coming on board like Sub Pop and Domino that are available on the US site then I'm in.

US users are up in arms though because there will be variable track pricing over there and they're getting Universal they already have Sony over there). Not sure if I fancy that.
