Terry Riley

dis-integration [Edit] [Delete] 10:13, 30 October '10

So it's unofficial Terry Riley week in Bristol - Adrian Utley is doing In C with his guitar orchestra next week, and Charles Hazelwood is doing A Rainbow in Curved Air next Friday.

And the night before last the man himself, with George Brooks and Talvin Singh, pulled out an amazing performance of Indian raga and cosmopolitan minimalism at St. George's, dedicated to Pandit Pran Nath (who seems to be gaining more column inches, what with Catherine Christer Hennix's The Electric Harpsichord being reissued). Which was one of my favourite things I've seen live in a long time.

So this is a sort of heads-up for any London people around on the 3rd, I thoroughly recommend going.
