Music Social More…

Would you agree that indie record shops should concentrate on new releases and deal with labels directly? esp local ones?

As you can get back catalogues of bands and new major (yes, including Dis tastes) releases online and from HMV pretty cheaply.

I'm not counting second hand record shops here- they are essential to finding old bargains too.

No i'm talking about records shops conetrating on 'alternative' music.

I reckon people would be much more willing to revisit shops that concentrated on purchasing new releases direct from labels, not distros. Smaller labels may give better terms like sale-or-return which will reduce overheads and you are more likely to find exclusive releases at your local.

yeh?

neh?

meh?
