90's american indie rock

refined_decline [Edit] [Delete] 19:23, 10 December '10

Having spent the last few years only really listening to ambient/drone records, in the past few weeks I've been getting back into all the bands that I loved when I first became pretty obsessive about music: namely 90's American indie rock. Pavement, Shellac, Guided By Voices, Built to spill, Galaxie 500, Sebadoh - I'm even listening to Bubble and Scrape now - so I thought I'd start a thread. I know that there's a lot of love for these bands around here. Favourite album from this time? Any forgotten gems from this period?
Also, whilst we're on the subject, I've never bothered getting into the likes of Superchunk and Smog. Should I?
