House/techno (2011's 'rebooted' edition)

dis-integration [Edit] [Delete] 22:00, 8 January '11

The old one hasn't been used for ages, and what with a new year starting and all that it seems to make sense to start afresh for house and techno. We've not had one of these for a while, so following on from setting up the 'dubstep tunes' thread, I thought I'd post some house and techno tracks I'm feeling right now. Any recommendations or similar stuff would be most welcome...

Delano Smith - A Special Kind - wicked Detroit house on Third Ear

Moodymann - It's 2 Late 4 U & Me - main track off Moody's 'Ol Dirty Vinyl' EP from last year, club killer with an absolutely gorgeous mid-track shift in mood.

Roy Davis Jr. - All I Do - FXHE recently reissued this lovely Stevie Wonder edit (the Omar S track, 'Da Teys', on the flip is awesome as well)

Floating Points - Vacuum Boogie - stargazing retro-styled house/boogie, from a producer who's quickly established himself as something of a jack-of-all-trades. I reckon this is still his best track so far though.

Kassem Mosse - 2D - one of the latest tracks from the Bosse, properly amazing deconstructed techno. His new EP on Kinda Soul is amazing.

Real by Reel - Surkit - absolutely classic retrofuturistic Detroit techno, one hell of a jam. This was recently reissued, I picked up on it via Peverelist's blog...

Even Tuell - Untitled (Workshop 11) - the highlight of the awesome latest instalment of the Workshop series, gorgeous lo-fi house that drifts along, seemingly in a total vacuum

Rick Wilhite - What Do You See? (Ricky's Groove Mix) - another recent Rush Hour reissue, along with awesome mixes from Theo Parrish and Moodymann

Sarrass - Lust - more tasty, dubby Third Ear business
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4lumSvmV3k&feature=related

DJ Sprinkles - House Music Is Controllable Desire You Can Own - though to be fair I could have posted any track from his incredible Midtown 120 Blues album
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utvbDCdO3Zo

Also Steffi's upcoming album on Ostgut, which has some absolutely lovely, 7am fucked-up house tracks on it - one particularly brilliant vocal cut, called 'Yours', was recently released on white label under the pseudonym 'Domeright'. It's not on Youtube but is well worth tracking down.

That's just a few of the things I've been caning recently, been on a bit of a four-to-the-floor tip as of late.
