Our Love Will destroy The World, Mick Flower & Neil Campbell and Stuckometer, 21st Feb, Islington Mill

M-I-E [Edit] [Delete] 10:50, 7 February '11

What a line up!

MIE is honoured to be putting on Campbell Kneale's, aka Birchville Cat Motel, new moniker Our Love Will Destroy The World. Also after their storming Fuel show Neil Campbell and Mick Flower are back. And local favourites Stuckometer!

Tickets are £6 from http://www.wegottickets.com/event/102098

Our Love Will Destroy The World
...
Just excoriating blood-drones and blitzkrieg ragas from Nowhere, New Zealand, in search of fleeting moments of infinite density; where everything is louder than everything else, time slows to a crawl, and brains under stress slip into warm, prickly comas. Think the wiggiest Coltrane, the wobbliest Public Image, the most pyromaniacal Conrad, Cale or Maclise. Think Pandit Pran Nath being chewed up by Hanatarash's tropical piranha collection.

Our Love Will Destroy The World arose from the smoldering ashes of the highly esteemed Birchville Cat Motel, who pretty much clogged the earth with over 300 recorded artifacts and stalked the globe on a relentless hunt for the best gig ever. Since the beginning of 2008, Our Love Will Destroy The World has released a slew of 7"s, lps and tapes on various international labels (Dekorder, Blackest Rainbow, Krayon Recordings)

At times it has the obliterating rock overload of Black Boned Angel, and often the overpowering envelopment of Birchville Cat Motel, but its a somehow glossier, more sensual take on Campbell Kneale's previous work that satisfies all you've ever wanted from his music in an awe-inspringly gargantuan way.

Neil Campbell & Mick Flower

Neil Campbell and Mick Flower have a history as two key members of legendary Leeds freak-out collective Vibracathedral Orchestra. Neil left the group around four years ago and has since released countless solo recordings under the name Astral Social Club (you might remember him from our Tim Hecker and Gate show) that, under the influence of minimal house, recall the ecstatic revery of Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music. Meanwhile, Mick has not only continued on the Vibracathedral trip, but has also played guitar and bass with everyone from Pete Nolan's Magik Markers side project Spectre Folk, MV&EE w/The Golden Road and Sunburned Hand of the Man. He is also one half of one the best psych/improv drenched duos around, Flower-Corsano Duo. An absolutely must-see performance awaits.

Stuckometer

The ear crushing free improvising noise rock quartet based in Manchester, who have featured members from Part Wild Horses Mane On Both Sides, Inca Eyeball, Kalbakken, Infinite Light & A Middle Sex. Loud and noisy.
