Colin Stetson anyone?
Is anyone here a fan of Colin Stetson? He has had a record on the relatively obscure Aagoo records and has a forthcoming one on Constellation.
He plays the saxophone and predominantly uses a breathing technique which allows him to play notes repetively for a sustained amount of time. At his fastest it sounds like a Philip Glass piece written for saxophone and at it's slowest has a grinding dark ambient quality.
Anyway, I highly recommend it. I hear he's also pretty astounding live. The new record is oN pre-order but the digital is available to buy or for those that buy the LP. Some sample tracks here....
