Rob Booth's Electronic Exploration

jimitheexploder [Edit] [Delete] 18:05, 5 April '11

Rob Booth, and his Electronic Explorations broadcast, was one of the main influences in the birth of Sonic Router. The team behind the site took lead from his humble and frequent actions, wanting to give more and more back to the scene we were besotted with. I’ve told him this numerous times but it was his show that every week, soundtracked many a journey to work and uncovered hundreds of new artists. His relaxed presenting style and sheer wealth of music made it a delightfully easy listen, consistently highlighting the work of a positive foray of new and exciting producers. Besides Mary Anne Hobb’s (who’s a very vocal supporter of both Rob and the show) weekly slot on Radio 1, Booth’s EE show was the primary vehicle for us to learn about dubstep at a time before the downloadable promo mix was such a prominent and multifarious beast.
