preemptive encores

CDuck202 [Edit] [Delete] 11:46, 7 April '11

i've always been annoyed at the way all bands will play a set, go off, and then come back and do one or two more songs.

its not like this is actually an encore, they not playing to please the crowd who otherwise might tear the building down, they know before hand exactly what songs they are going to play, it's part of the setlist.

to me it seems pretentious and it angers me that i have to wait five minutes, maybe clapping or cheering with the rest of them, without any sort of emotion, because i know that whatever the response from the crowd the band will come back on, regardless.

i think it interupts the flow of the set, and i feel like a lemon standing there demanding they come back when i know they will.

does this annoy anyone else, or just me?
