[LIVERPOOL] Dirtblonde live @ The Kazimier, Sat 7th May

whothefuck [Edit] [Delete] 00:19, 6 May '11

Dirtblonde are playing at The Kazimier, on Saturday 7th May.

It's a CHEW DISCO club night - the awesome New York/ Liverpool punk DIY party with resident and guest DJs playing classic post-punk, rockabilly, new wave, queercore, riot grrrl, obscure 80s trash, 90s alternative, electro and sundry rarities from John Peel’s attic and Tammy Fay Baker’s pill box.

Plus brand new homemade video art, b-movies, video nasties, cult cinema, feminist, GLF and Black Panther reels, vintage skin flicks and burlesque oddities!!

Doors 8pm
£5 / £4 ADV

ABOUT DIRTBLONDE:

“Dirtyfilthynastyrocknrollfuckers” The Austin Chronicle, Texas (SXSW preview)

“Dirtblonde operate in a twilight world where the canonical bands are not the Beatles or Beach Boys and their heirs but the Cramps, 60s garage punk, The Stooges, Pussy Galore, The Kills, mid 70s New York punk. An imagined place where music can offend and inspire not simply end up as incidental music in a mall or on football highlights." Is This Music?

"Scuzzy, raw, and seemingly built upon total and utter boredom with everything. Dirtblonde are a two-sword rock’n'roll traincrash and we like them a lot.” The Stool Pigeon

“They look and sound like a cross between Sid & Nancy and Bonnie’n’ Clyde fed through a fuzz box. They seem to leave the audience speechless.” – BBC

“Continuing the grand tradition of sleaze-punk merchants like Richard Hell & The Voidoids and The Jesus And Mary Chain…” The Fly magazine
