Is 3 an unlucky number??? (In terms of an album release)

TheYTtelescope [Edit] [Delete] 00:13, 7 May '11

People might say that rock died after the britpop music, but this is not the case in my opinion. Remember that group of bands that released albums in the year 2003 and 2004 and they all did incredibly well, their second albums doing just or nearly as good in comparison?
If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm talking about the Kaiser Cheifs, Snow Patrol, Razorlight, Keane, Maximo Park, Franz Ferdinand and The Editors.
These bands do share something kind of odd, they all did badly on their third album.

Razorlight -

Up All Night - 4X Platinum
Razorlight - 4X Platinum
Signal Fires - Gold

Keane -
Hopes and Fears - 9X Platinum
Under the Iron Sea - 2X Platinum
Perfect Symmetry - Platinum

Editors -
The Back Room - Platinum
An End has A Start - Platinum
In the Light of this Evening - No Certification

Kaiser Cheifs -
Employment - 5X Platinum
Yours Truly, Angry Mob - 2X Platinum
Off With Their Heads - No Certification

Snow Patrol -
Final Straw (ok it wasn't their first album, but it was the one where they broke into the mainstream) - 5X Platinum
Eyes Open - 7X Platinum
A Hundred Million Suns - Platinum

Franz Ferdinand

Franz Ferdiand - 4X Platinum
You Could Have it So Much Better - Platinum
Tonight: Franz Ferdinand - No Certification

Maximo Park

A Certain Trigger - Gold
Our Earthly Pleasures - Gold
Quicken in the Heart - No Certification

Ok, maybe Keane didn't do that badly (same with Snow Patrol) but the bands I just mentioned all seemed to have underwhelming sales on their third release and were released within 6 months.

WTF HAPPENED????
These where bands they were having top 10 singles a couple having number 1s.
I am new here, so this may have been covered but I really want answers to this?

(sorry if there are spelling mistakes)
