Music Social More…

Does the music industry seem out of touch with the real world?

TheYTtelescope [Edit] [Delete] 17:25, 18 May '11

We are in the middle of an economic downturn which is seeing many people out of work and seeing growth at an all time low. More and more business's are falling whilst new ones find it harder to start up.
But look at the charts, and you'll see songs about partying, money and success?
WTF??? You'd think the economic recession would inspire people to write songs about poverty and crippling depression but the songs that are coming out (I also mean from the indie bands) don't seem to reflect this. There are only two songs that reflect this being "I Need a Dollar" by Aloe Blacc and "The A Team" by Ed Sheeran. Why aren't there more songs like this that relate to ordinary problems that effect normal people?
