Let's talk about Latitude Festival

hip_young_gunslinger [Edit] [Delete] 12:38, 7 June '11

Any DiSsers going? What do you make of the line-up, which I guess is mostly all in place now?

I'm going, but I'm a bit underwhelmed if I'm honest. Bright Eyes and the National are my two picks at the moment, but I'm seeing Bright Eyes at the RAH this month, and saw the National at Latitude last year, so neither are exactly special... plus I'll have to watch Paloma Faith during the gap between them.

Obviously not thrilled by Paulo Nutini on Saturday, but then not hugely bothered by Foals either. Sunday is a toss-up between Suede and Eels, both of which I think could be fine but neither of which I have more than a passing interest in.

Other acts I want to see: Deerhunter, Mark Lanegan and Isobel Campbell, the Walkmen, Gold Panda, Caribou, British Sea Power, the Naked & the Famous, Cerebral Ballzy...

I know that last year some of my favourite bits were the things I'd never heard of in the theatre tent and so on, but I still want a bit more. Which other bands should I check out before I go?

And what do you think about the Scala Choir doing the Sunday slot? Not great, but probably better than Tom Jones doing his gospel shite last year.
