Credibility

aactv [Edit] [Delete] 20:17, 11 June '11

Interesting concept really. Was mainly thinking of some people attacking Biffy Clyro after Matt Cardle covered their song. Comment from someone on nme.com (http://www.nme.com/news/biffy-clyro--2/57229):

"I hope the money fills the hole where your credibility used to be.
"

Firstly, whatever you think of either Biffy, their career trajectory or the X Factor; its fairly obvious that the song was chosen to be covered by someone else and therefore can't really be the band stabbing its fans in the back or "selling out" just by allowing the song to be covered. Secondly, it remains to be seen whether this has had an actual impact on their music (as they haven't released any since).

I know I have worded this badly, I can't get a coherent point across at the best of times (verbally or by typing/writing) and my brain is frazzled from revision (A2 maths exam on thursday) at the moment, but hopefully you get my point - does this sort of thing (about any band/artist) really make any difference to you?

I personally think the guy who left this comment was a bit of a moron.
