Now that Neutral Milk Hotel (or at least Jeff Mangum) have been dragged out of reclusion

Are there any big indie sacred cows left? We've had Pavement, My Bloody Valentine, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Slint, etc. NMH was always the jackpot I think, considering the emotional attachment of so many people to `In The Aeroplane Over The Sea` and its place in the tastes of the typical indie listener, as well as the mystery and sort-of disappearance of the band.

Is the indie nostalgia-well dry? Or are there other acts that would cause genuine excitement (not obscuro third-rate sub-Pavement acts either)?
