What are your favourite rock songs / records ever?

vamos [Edit] [Delete] 12:55, 22 June '11

I never really know how to categorise rock music. But for the sake of this thread any record where the guitars are FUCKING LOUD and highly celebrated fits the bill. Raucous wailing / screaming is preferred too.

Anyhow, lets talk about really noisy stuff as we don't do that on here enough.

Some personal favourites, in no real order:

QOTSA - Songs for the deaf
Trail of Dead - Madonna
Six by seven - The closer you get
BATS - Red in Tooth & Claw
Future of the left - Curses / Travels with myself...
mclusky - Do Dallas
Kong - Snake magnet
Eighties Matchbox - Horse of the dog
Icarus Line - Mono
Ikara Colt - Chat & Business
At the drive in - Relationship of command
The Bronx - The Bronx (3)
Pissed Jeans - King of jeans
Todd - Purity Pledge
Bikini Atoll - Liar's Exit
Death from above 1979 - You're a machine
Mark Lanegan - Bubblegum

There are a lot of familiar names there I guess, but I love all those records to death. Just the right levels of distortion, guitar indulgence and storming choruses.

I've started making a playlist of rock songs I love. Join in:
