Interpol vs Editors

aactv [Edit] [Delete] 20:35, 22 July '11

Thought I'd start this after a sarcastic comment on another thread. I can imagine the stock answer here for most people would be Interpol. But I'm going to make a case for Editors. The Back Room is a far superior album to Interpol's alleged classic Turn On The Bright Lights. The songs are catchier, the production less monochrome and just an all round more pleasant listen. The second Editors album is probably their worst, but even that is probably better than the last Interpol album, which only had about 4 decent songs on it. Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors is still a tune. Also, Interpol's albums sonically are very similar (personally Our Love To Admire is my favourite of the four), whereas Editors are notably different, from the Interpol-esque debut, to the soft rock of the second and the synthpop of the third.

Anyway, which do you prefer and why?
