buying 1st record player and really need some help...please

selby7 [Edit] [Delete] 22:16, 29 July '11

hey guys, im new to this forum and ive seen some good from feedback from other posts, so im hoping u guys can help me.
Im going mad at the moment as i start to look for my first ever record player.
There is just so much info.
From what ive read so far, i seem keen on going for a Rega P2, but i have so many questions.
Basically i would like the player to play all sorts of records ie. old and new.
I dont want to mess around with changing belts, or upgrading things later by buying a cheaper second hand player. I just want something that I can buy and play without messing around. Any ideas on that note?
Next is what are the extras i need once i buy my player (im sure this is all dependant on what player i buy). Do i need speaker, amp, pre/amp (whatever that is, but ive read about it in many threads),phono, anything else...?

Im looking to spend about gbp200-300 on the player, depending on what extras i would need.

Any help would basically be bloody great!

Cheers!
