Miss Black America / early 21st century toilet-cult bands

sonicmidwife [Edit] [Delete] 12:31, 18 August '11

You might remember that way back in 2001, when it were all fields round these parts, Suffolk rock combo Miss Black America were being touted by DiS as the future of rock 'n' roll. They didn't quite live up to the hype but released quite a few decent pop tunes before fizzling out in 2006.

It's almost 10 years to the day since the band began recording their debut album, 'God Bless Miss Black America', and that album's line-up (Seymour on guitar/vox, Gish on guitar, Mike on bass, Neil on drums) have been practicing together again and might be doing some gigs. Here's a playlist of their better moments, put together by the band:

MBA were one of what seemed like a million-and-one bands with rabid followings, but who never got any further than the toilet circuit. Who were your favourites, and who would you like to see in action again? I for one loved Antihero and The Dawn Parade, but how well have their tunes held up 10 years on?
