August has been a bit dire musically.

There hasn't been a lot of new releases to excite for quite a while, in my humble opinion - all the good stuff isn't released for at least another month.

It therefore seems as good a time as any to flag up some notably rubbish years in the history of music. Which 12 months left you parched for musical stimulation?

In what year did we see the absolute minimum of of interesting debuts, the greatest number of of disappointing tours matched with the worst 'scenes' of popular music?
