HELP. I've got a "firmware compatibility" problem with a recently repaired iPod.

Violator [Edit] [Delete] 23:29, 15 September '11

I have a 120GB iPod classic and have just recently had it repaired and returned. I had thought there was an LCD display problem with it because the picture just went white but apparently the problem had something to do with the motherboard.

Anyhow, I got it back today and it seemed to be working fine again until I hooked it up. Apparently the iPod has firmware which is incompatible. I've looked into this problem and many of the solutions use a lot of jargon I don't really understand.

Still, one solution which is recommended on Apple's discussion boards is to go to the iPod Software Updates folder and delete it and then try to restore the iPod to it's factory settings.

I've done this about five times and it's not getting me anywhere - the same problem keeps popping up. The iPod has firmware which incompatible.

What else can I do besides phone the bastards and ask them for my money back?
