Nick Cave and Warren Ellis nail it. I've been listening to this the last few months and it's something else. Sparse piano, violin and cello arrangements with the fleeting appearance of percussion here and there.

My question is, can anyone recommend me some more stuff like this? I've tried their other soundtracks for The Proposition and Assassination of Jesse James and enjoyed both but neither have the peaceful melancholic qualities of The Road OST.
