Went to see Billy Corgan and his hired musical hands last night as I couldn't resist seeing 'em in such a setting. Saw them at Leeds/Reading (poor) and in Nottingham (they got booed offstage) since their "reformation", so was a touch apprehensive about how they would fare. I have to be honest though, despite possibly the most shockingly quiet live sound I've ever experienced at a gig, and a bunch of people who seemed content to blow 35quid to stand and chat loudly to each other for 3 hours, the Pumpkins were pretty good. Varied set, some genuinely fun moments. Not life changing, but enjoyable. Anyone else go?
