'sui generis' music

incandenza_ [Edit] [Delete] 14:40, 2 January '12

a thread for music that you don't know how the fuck to classify due to a healthy disregard for genre conventions.

I'm listening to an album by a band called WZT Hearts called 'Thread Rope Spell Making Your Bones'. It started off all noisey, smeared synths and free jazz drums...it's rhythmic in an abstract way...there is a strange pervading atmosphere throughout. closest comparison I can think of is Supersilent, but then it's a vague one. plus, how would you classify thar band?

you could call it 'noise', but that would be hugely reductive. awesome, though.
