I'd guess some of you got a smartphone of some sort for Christmas. And that some others of you had time over the break to play around with various app stores and tried out some music apps.

Which led me to being curious - especially as I'm thinking again about building a DiS app - what everyone's favourite apps are?

I really like the daytrotter one for browsing their archive of sessions. And the hype machine one is always handy. Soundcloud's is good for browsing my dropbox of demos every now and again. Not really found anything for my Blackberry that I love - although there aren't a great deal of apps to choose from (although Spotify now works on it). Quite impressed by Deezer's mobile app, as subscription music on a smartphone goes, is pretty good and intuitive - much moreso thank BlackBerry's BBM music app, which no-one I know seems to be using.

Also, did you see this crazy dream-app thing that Wired published? Surely there are better things music apps can do than some of these ideas http://www.wired.com/underwire/2012/01/ultimate-music-app/
