Classical Music Lives! (Rest is Noise-centric)

sean [Edit] [Delete] 16:48, 31 January '12

Did anyone else read this in the Guardian today? http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2012/jan/30/contemporary-classical-music-finds-audience

Interesting to see this getting some proper mainstream media attention. Do things on Erased Tapes and stuff like Tim Hecker fall under this banner?

Anyone planning to goto any of the Rest is Noise shows? Some info here:
http://ticketing.southbankcentre.co.uk/classical/2012-13/the-rest-is-noise

Some of it is gonna be on telly http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2012/bbc-four-southbank-partnership.html

DiS' review of Rest is Noise is here http://drownedinsound.com/in_depth/4136264 - still not read it, kinda feel like I should after falling so in love with A Winged Victory for the Sullen and the like of late...
