Music Social More…

it's that time of the week again. today: blues tips.

flickmyturtletoo [Edit] [Delete] 16:05, 7 February '12

following the "getting bored of music" and "underrated 60s" threads, both of which resulted in some absolutely brilliantly suggestions and discoveries and allowed not just me but lots of other users to find stuff they otherwise would never have heard, i thought i'd try once more with blues suggestions.

past, present (or future). known or unknown. out there or in here. avant garde or safe and sound.

i recently heard bill orcutt's a new way to pay old debts and while it obviously isn't strictly blues, i felt it had the same lonesome spirit and essential soul, and so it got me exploring the past masters (johnson, blind willie, leadbelly, etc). but who else should we give a try? who's around now who's producing some darkly glittering gems?

once more, thanks in advance.
