Some of my favourite American bands/artists seem to always talk about places in the States. The Hold Steady, Titus Andronicus, Sufjan Stevens, to name but a few have loads of lyrics about towns, cities etc. It seems to be much more common for American bands to do this than UK ones. Maybe I'm wrong here though? The majority of the time I've never been to any of these places so I almost feel like I'm missing out on something or not understanding the lyrics properly. Are there good UK bands who do this at all? I can't think of anything apart from Libertines and Razorlight crap about London...
