second lineup better than first?

Jamie_Summers [Edit] [Delete] 09:07, 24 September '05
was thinking earlier, the impression most people have is that when a band changes members that they lose a bit of the magic they had (tho thats probably just down to nostalgia). so, what bands had a better second/third/whatever lineup than the one that they became famous with/released their first records with.

i'd say faith no more is an obvious one, patton being miles ahead of courtney love and chuck mosely.
iron maiden, bruce dickinson better than paul di'anno.
pulp didn't get to their best lineup for quite a while.

any more?
