LDN - Y Niwl - Alex Dingley - The Sun Electric Band - The Hall of Mirrors - Sunday 8th April @ The Lexington

TogetherWeCan1 [Edit] [Delete] 14:56, 28 March '12

Spend Sunday April 8th in the comfort of The Lexington, with its laidback atmosphere, roast dinners and 4 very special guests, including residents The Hall of Mirrors who are currently hard at work on their first album with the likes of Paul O’Duffy (John Barry collaborator/ Amy Winehouse Back to Black co-writer).

Special guests include:

Y Niwl

‘They're the world's highest altitude post-surf band. They sound like post-rockers gatecrashing a Tarantino soundtrack’ Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animal's). So taken by Y Niwl was Gruff Rhys that they later became his backing band.

Y Niwl were named The Sunday Times Album of the Week on 2 January 2011. The track Undegpedwar was used as the theme tune to the BBC television show Football Focus.

The Sun Electric Band

‘Manchester’s Sun Electric Band channel the beatnik harmonies of Real Estate or The Mantles, but with a blues edge that tips its hat to Steely Dan and early Beatles, and sits them alongside contemporaries Spectrals (In The City).’They are a band over-flowing with classic pop eloquence... while new Manc bands are seemingly falling over themselves to re-invent the wheel and overwhelm us with otherworldly soundscapes, The Sun Electric Band’s genius is very much of this world’ (City Life).
