Brighton, Tue 3 July: ORCA TEAM / JOANNA GRUESOME / EDIBLE ARRANGMENTS

boney [Edit] [Delete] 20:16, 6 May '12

Another Sunny Day Indiepop Club are we're putting on a pre-Indietracks show - in co-operation with the awesome folks at Riots Not Diets - featuring two top turns who're appearing at the aforementioned indiepop festival.

ORCA TEAM will be playing their first UK show, with their debut album proper 'Restraint' due out a few weeks beforehand. The Seattle-based trio with a penchant for shorts have been described as 'dark surf pop' (A Layer Of Chips), 'like a sonar echo, debonair but deep' (A Fog Of Ideas), 'a 1960s Post Punk Beach Party' who 'make the music of a punk trio if everyone in the band decided to keep their volume low and their tones clean' (Mike, Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records).

JOANNA GRUESOME have been making a sweet racket for somewhere approaching a year now. One of the best noisy indiepop bands to emerge for some time, they've been compared favourably to such luminaries as 'early Lush and Ride, AC Acoustics before they went terrible, Uresei Yatsura, MBV' (A Layer Of Chips) and Spraydog (a few folks, actually). Basically they're fucking loud and bloody great. Enjoy their free online EP wotsit:

EDIBLE ARRANGEMENTS = brand new Brightonian combo featuring luminaries from La La Vasquez and Chaps, I think this might be their very first show.
