Music vs. Time

Caesurob [Edit] [Delete] 14:59, 17 May '12

Based on a four-year flirtation with the drownedinsound boards, I have come to the conclusion that, by and large, the DiS community knows a lot about lots of different types of music. This knowledge seems to come from both listening to music and a variety of internet-based sources - the likes of Spotify, bandcamp, boomkat, and the rest.

My question is: where do you find the time?

I can't listen to music first thing in the morning because I live in a flat and get up at 6. I then listen to music between quarter to 7 and ten past 8, when I get to work. There's no more music-related activity (except infrequent guerrilla cases like this one) until I leave work at 16.30, and listen to music until about 17.45, when I get home. After this I'll usually go swimming, cook, eat, and then have a limited amount of time trawling the net, by which point I'm usually shattered.

Where do you get your music from? When do you listen to it? Do you go without sleep? How long does it take before you like/consider yourself an authority on a band, song, or album?
