Music Social More…

I love music made with strict limitations

Having a smaller palette forces you to be more creative with what you have, and explore the outer possibilities of your base materials. It also counteracts the hesitancy one might have to put down the paintbrush, rather than making that one more stroke. I’m talking about Colin Stetson sat in a hotel room with his sax, or some Detroit guy making techno on one archaic 303, but also self imposed constructional and compositional limitations. Less interested in guy with acoustic guitar and tape recorder.

Tell me about your favourite limitations.
