ATP I'll Be Your Mirror reviews/thoughts/etc

WhiteLightWhiteCity [Edit] [Delete] 14:09, 26 May '12

How was it for you? *naughty wink*

Friday night: Melvins were fucking great, they've basically done exactly right over the years for a band of their ilk. Such a good groove with the dual drummers. Playing their version of `Youth of America` was great. About 10 years since the first time I saw them at my first `proper` concert.

Wolves In The Throne Room were good, though didn't match The Melvins for me, being sorta less immediate. Sleep were suitably huge, only perhaps lacking the sense of occasion of their (``one-off not to be repeated!``) come-back at ATP couple of years back when they played for at least twice as long.

Slayer were excellent, and the crowd seemed well into it. One of the most perfect albums ever, even if the summer weather wasn't ideally suited to a whole day of metal.

Petty observations about OTHER PEOPLE:
- If there was anyone there without a visible tattoo, I didn't see them.
- It seems there's basically no one now who doesn't have the capability and desire to badly photograph (or badly video) themselves or the band, or to check their facebook account instead of watching the event they've paid £45 to see.
