Albums so bad, they sully the memory of the band's back catalogue

I'm not talking the sort of album that's some form of failed experiment which can be written off as "at least they tried". I'm talking a follow up which highlights all the band's weaknesses and starts to make you focus on those weaknesses to the extent that you can't even listen to the original album you liked anymore.

Something like latter day Red Hot Chili Peppers in contrast to Blood Sugar Sex Magik (take your pick on post-Californication releases). Or Head Automatica's horrendously sacharine follow up in Popaganda to the under-rated Decadence. Suddenly their claims of "trying to encapsulate Britpop" sum up everything that is wrong about them.
