Whatever happened to James Blake, Jamie Woon and "Post-dubstep"

aactv [Edit] [Delete] 20:25, 8 August '12

Late 2010 its all you ever heard about, stuff like that was everywhere, from tv adverts to nme to the dis boards. And then come 2011, Blakes album flopped, and the entire genre disappeared from the mainstream altogether.

I have a theory that the two main mainstream "-steps" were sorta getting big at the same time (post-dubstep/"blubstep" and brostep) and the people at large generally chose (inexplicably) brostep.

I don't particularly like either genre, but meh. Its a little funny how quick fads can be in music, particularly in terms of production styles and whatnot. And this is still a tune (even if it probably has a lot more in common with radiohead than it does with dubstep): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVgEaDemxjc
