Absolute Radio planning to play over 85 minutes of Spandau Ballet's Gold in one show on Monday.

Garbageman [Edit] [Delete] 13:53, 9 August '12

Absolute Radio is celebrating the medal success of Team GB at the Olympic Games by playing Spandau Ballet's classic track Gold once for every gold medal Team GB has won and will win, between now and the end of the Games.

The station's listeners will be treated to the Spandathon on Christian O'Connell's breakfast show on Monday August 13, the day after the official closing ceremony.

The final play of the song will be performed by Spandau Ballet front man Tony Hadley who will sing a live version of the hit written by band mate Gary Kemp.

With Team GB's gold medal haul currently standing at 22, the classic 1983 track will be played at least 22 times or for just over 85 minutes...in one show.

Stay away!
