symmetry in music...

forzaborza [Edit] [Delete] 20:07, 29 August '12

dunno why, but when i look at discographies of bands i'm always a fan of a bit o' symmetry. as in, they've released their records every 1 or 2 or 3 years, etc.

Arcade Fire spring to mind.

Frightened Rabbit slightly less so.

always thought then if i had a band i'd have to be OCD about that sort of stuff. ideally, release a record, spend a year touring it, then a year off/writing. not that i think creativity should be a mechanical process, but for me it'd probably have to be.

are there any examples of bands who've continued this sort of symmetry throughout their careeers, either purposely or by fluke, either in terms of dates of releases, or names/initials of albums, or anything else?

(no worries. i'm phuckin' bang on it today!!!).
