Help a noob with digital audio please.

If I went down the PC HDD>>DAC>>Hi-Fi amp route....

What's a good soundcard for this? one that outputs at 192k? does it matter what bitrate my music is stored at if so? does it matter if this is FLAC?

I need a SPDIF output right? but Toslink or coaxial? and would I need a different DAC depending on which output I chose?

Does any of this matter?

This soundcard looks cool:

But I've seen ones for £50 that promise the same thing, so why bother with it?
