Late to the party - please give me the lowdown on Massive Attack latter period

Si_Badvibes [Edit] [Delete] 16:36, 17 October '12

I was there for the first 2 Massive albums. Loved the first. Loved about half the second but was more interested in the other Bristolians knocking about whose albums were more interesting.

By the time of the 3rd, I was chasing faster rhythms so wasn't bothered.

Picked up Mezzanine about 6 mths ago. Realised I'd been an idiot. Awesome. It's better than the first 2. Menacing and bassy. Not even Horace Andy's warbling could ruin it for me (sorry, his voice has always grated). Kind of reminds me of what Death In Vegas tried but didn't quite pull off with The Contino Sessions.

Anyway, I'm telling you what you already know. To the point- tell me about post-Mezzanine material. Given what I've just told you- what should I check out.
