Now I'm not a fan of the X-Factor and I'm certainly not a fan of Aiden Grimshaw. To be honest I expected to dislike and possibly be bored by him. Instead I was confronted by an incredibly humble, intelligent man who wasn't afraid to talk honestly about how appearing on the X-Factor so young fucked him up, basically.

It totally made me rethink my (sometimes) rather snobbish opinion of reality TV contestants. I won't ever think he's massively talented, I still don't like his music but Aiden Grimshaw is just another teenager who's been chewed up and spat back out by programmes like the X-Factor.

It's time we stopped tuning in to this circus! The sob stories and the exploitation are frankly too much at this point. Start a band, sing at an open mic night, put the graft in and at least keep your soul for Gods sake!
