I assume it's simply to do with bit rate or whatever. however I have Spotify Premium and it should good enough not to make a massive difference, even if soundcloud is streaming from uploaded uncompressed wav files. Surely?

This is something I've really noticed recently. Like with the Thevius Beck album, or the Negative Pegasus album. Both lose a certain something on Spotify, enough to kinda ruin things a bit.
