Frightened Rabbit - "Home" the mini-film (and the new songs).

Luke_Away [Edit] [Delete] 23:52, 22 November '12

Saw this at a special screening in Glasgow tonight.

The film is your standard tour film affair with clips of the band playing in various small venues interspersed with spectacular footage of highland scenery. There's a couple of wee acoustic performances in there too (State Hospital and Fuck This Place).

However during the film there was a sneaky preview of what the new songs are sounding like - and they are sounding amazing. The new album is going to be good. Really fucking good.

We also got shown the video for the forthcoming single "The Woodpile" featuring some dodgy acting and some glorious over-acting.

Scott then did an acoustic set after the screening and played another couple of new tunes (Backyard Skulls?? and Death March??) some semi-new ones (Scottish Wind and Boxing Night) and some requests for old favourites like Be Less Rude and Floating in the Forth, but definitely not Snake!!

So anyway I say to all Frabbit fans - rejoice!! The move to a major label has not been the disaster that was perhaps feared. The last EP was a bit of a mixed bag but the new album is going to be huge.
