Phil Elverum's a bit of a genius really, isn't he?

automatik [Edit] [Delete] 15:38, 14 December '12

Although I think I'd made a half-assed attempt at listening to The Microphones years ago, I properly discovered him this year with the second Mount Eerie album of 2012, Ocean Roar.

Now I'm revelling in that great feeling when you realise you've discovered a new artist who has a fairly sizeable back catalogue to romp through. Just listened to Mount Eerie (the Microphones album) for the first time. It's just like nothing I've personally heard before, so textured, so awash with interesting sounds and ideas... I don't know if you'd call it *experimental* but it sort of sounds that way to me, in the very best and most successful sense.

Any other fans / where should I go next?
