In a bid to boost business via its dedicated second-hand ticketing company Stubhub, eBay will cease to host ticket-reselling in the UK.

City AM reports that StubHub – an eBay-owned company – has been successful in the US but that its UK business has failed to make a significant impact on the market.

As the UK’s leading seller of second-hand music tickets, eBay is hoping that redirecting business to StubHub from this spring will change its fortunes.

StubHub takes a bigger cut of ticket sales than eBay – a total of 25% - and claims that it filters out fraudulent tickets through its partnerships with established companies, such as AEG through its AXS ticketing service.
