Some questions for people who release music

stanstubbs [Edit] [Delete] 15:46, 22 August '13

How much time & effort do you spend thinking about things like artwork, track/album names, website design and shit like that? I release electronic stuff as free downloads - very small-scale, no artistic merit whatsoever - and it's given me a little insight into how 'real' artists must feel. I spend absolutely fucking ages tweaking artwork, messing with album names (in-jokes, anagrams, obscure references) and stuff, and thinking about different directions I could take my stuff and how to theme each release etc. Is probably a waste of time, but I find it fascinating, and really fucking fun. How much time do you spend on this stuff? Do you enjoy it, or does is distract you from the music? Just interested...
