Pearl Jam : Why?

midnightpunk [Edit] [Delete] 11:40, 14 January '14

Only once. Once - have I thought anything mildly positive about Pearl Jam and that was the first time I heard Alive, when it came out, as in a 'who's this' kind of way. Even by the time of their 2nd single they seemed laboured and to be frank, opportunists, on what was already becoming the tail end of the Sub-Pop scene. Ten has sold over 10 times platinum status. It's the sustained, albeit dipping, sales the band command that makes me wonder. Individually they are a collective of very good musicians. I have 'tried' several of their albums throughout the decades. Am I missing something or are they just rubbish?
