i'm not sure it made many best of 2013 lists other than Mojo but Mark Kozelek's Perils from the Sea (with Jimmy LaValle) is the album I've obsessed over the most from last year (along with the Bad Seeds one). every song is like a short story. one of those albums where you have to momentarily drop the cynicism and go along with the melancholy of it. just beautifully written

problem is, it's the first Kozelek album I've got into and I'm not sure where to go next (Sun Kil Moon / Red House Painters /solo stuff). any ideas? cheers
