increasingly I go to gigs and every fucker up on stage wants to be your mate. everything's waaay too polite. "thanks for coming to our show" "we love your town" "you've been such a kind audience" "<endearing story about something that happened to us the other night on our tour>"

who can I go and see at the moment who says none of the above, doesn't crack so much as a smile on stage, a right bunch of moody fuckers, hell, even someone who shows downright contempt for their audience. I find these usually make for the most exciting gigs.
