Music Social More…

So ... machinegun wielding terrorists have now attacked fans, at a music venue, during the gig

various_artists [Edit] [Delete] 19:51, 14 November '15

As a lifelong fan of music and especially live music- my heart and soul and everything I have goes out to the victims, their families and their friends and to music lovers everywhere who also died a little last night upon hearing the news that terrorists, SCHMUCKS armed with AK-47's invaded a concert hall in Paris and commenced firing from theatre balconies, at the concertgoers congregated on the floor below. Concertgoers who had done nothing more than to be music fans. As it turns out, they would become music fans who bought tickets to their own murder- all is tragic, all is senseless.

The attacks have been characterized by Prime Minister David Cameron as "an attack on our way of life" and I suppose he is right but isn't music an essential element of all human societies, in every quadrant of the globe? What specifically, does this attack mean in terms of being an attack on our way of life? What was it specifically about concertgoers which made them the objects of such brutality? Is it merely that patrons of a rock show are generally relatively young and carefree? Or was it an attack on what our music stands for- what it embodies? Like I said- it seems very senseless?

The Bataclan attack seems to have been only a single part of a coordinated, simultaneous series of attacks in Paris and was not the only location to see loss of life. Also attacked were a football stadium and several eating and drinking establishments. So the overall message seems to be- don't enjoy music and don't enjoy life.

I not going to say I've been here at home, particularly enjoying life today but I feel fortunate to be alive, ready, willing and able to go see LIVE -music when I want to and just like always there's music playing here- LIVE AND LOUD.

On a more personal note, a message from ME to THEM ...

YOU AIN'T GOT ENOUGH BULLETS TO KILL MUSIC MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!!
